Perspectives Consultation Information

Perspectives endeavours to match the needs of the client with the skills and abilities of the practitioner (supervisor, counsellor or therapist). Establishing a fit between the client and the practitioner may happen explicitly by formal assessment and contracting as well as implicitly by the unspoken aspects of the relationship.

perspectives work roomPerspectives believes it is important to review what is happening in the sessions and the to end the counselling in a respectful way.

The time frame for sessions is usually 50 minutes. If clients have different requirements these can be negotiated and the fee adjusted accordingly. The fees for the service are based on a sliding scale (based on income) and clients indicate the level of payment. Expectations about confidentiality, cancellations and missed appointments are discussed in the initial meeting.

For EAP, Family Court and ACC work the client is not required to pay any extra fees.

It is not possible to provide guarantees in this work. If a client is not satisfied with the service, it is preferable to express this to the practitioner at the time, or leave a message after the session. If the client still feels unsatisfied then they can contact the supervisor or the practitioner’s professional association.
